Tiger Salamander
6-13 3/8" (15.2-40 cm). Largest land-dwelling salamander. Stoutly built; broad head; small eyes. Color and pattern extremely variable: large light spots, bars, or blotches on dark background. Fleshy knobs on soles of feet. 11-14 (usually 12-13) side grooves.

Colorado River Toad
3-7" (7.7-18 cm). Largest native toad in U.S. Olive to dark brown, with relatively smooth, shiny skin. Elongate glands behind eyes touch prominent cranial crests. 1-2 white warts at corner of mouth. Other large warty glands on hind legs. Belly cream-colored.

Red-spotted Toad
1 1/2-3" (3.8-7.6 cm). Small, flat-bodied. Olive to grayish-brown, usually with reddish warts. Round glands behind eyes. Cranial crests weak or absent.

Woodhouse's Toad
2 1/2-5" (6-12.7 cm). Large, plump, toad with light stripe down middle of back. Prominent cranial crests contact elongate parotoids. Yellow, green, brown, or grayish, often with dark spotting. Resembles American Toad but has more pointed snout.

Canyon Treefrog
1 1/4-2 1/4" (3.2-5.7 cm). Plump and warty, with a toadlike appearance. Olive to brownish-gray, with darker blotches in most populations. Dark-edged light spot beneath eye. Thigh yellow to orange below. Large toe pads. Male has gray to black throat.

Western Chorus Frog
3/4-1 1/2" (1.9-3.8 cm). Skin smooth, greenish-gray to brown. Three dark stripes down back; may be broken, reduced, or absent. Dark stripe through eye and down along side, and white stripe along upper lip. Small round toe tips.

American Bullfrog
3 1/2-8" (9-20.3 cm). Largest frog in North America. Green to yellow above with random darker gray mottling. Large external eardrum; hind feet fully webbed except last joint of longest toe. No ridges down back. Belly cream to white, may be mottled with gray.

Western Banded Gecko
4 1/2-6" (11.4-15 cm). Medium-sized. Protruding eyelids. Light tan with dark brown to black crossbands, most evident in juveniles, breaking up with age into blotches, spots, and variegations. Skin supple; back scales uniformly granular. Toes slender; no pads.
