Migration Info The migration of this highly secretive species is only generally known. The Yellow-breasted Chat is fond of dense thickets at all times of the year, therefore the timing of its departure from the wintering grounds in Central America and the progress of its migration are difficult to ascertain. Males seldom sing during migration, so most birds aren't detected until they arrive on breeding territories. Western populations show a tendency to follow riparian corridors, while eastern birds are more widely dispersed.
