Description Adult recalls Black-legged Kittiwake, but has bright red legs. Compared to Black-legged, adult's yellow bill is shorter and gray back and upper wings are darker. Juvenile is similar to juvenile Black-legged, but black bill is shorter and lacks that species' black bar on inner wing.

Discussion Distinctive Bering Sea speciality. Breeds on island seacliffs and winters mainly at sea; easy to see on St. Paul Island, Pribilofs.
