Description Edwards' Hairstreak (Satyrium edwardsii) is a species of butterfly in the Lycaenidae family. It is found in the eastern parts of the United States and in the southern parts of the Canadian provinces from Saskatchewan to Quebec.

Larvae feed on Quercus species, including Quercus ilicifolia


Dimensions 1-1 1/4" (25-33 mm).


Habitat Forests & woodlands, Meadows & fields, Scrub, shrub & brushlands.


Range Texas, Southeast, Western Canada, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, New England, Eastern Canada, Plains.
