Description The Appalachian Brown or Woods Eyed Brown (Satyrodes appalachia) is a species of Satyrinae that is native to North America.

Larvae feed on Rhynchospora inundata, Carex lacustris, and Carex stricta.

Habitat Cities, suburbs & towns, Forests & woodlands, Freshwater swamps, marshes & bogs.

Range Southeast, Florida, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Eastern Canada, Plains, New England.
