Family: Cactaceae, Cactus view all from this family

Description A cylindrical cactus, Candy Barrel Cactus or Fishhook Barrel Cactus sometimes reaches 10 ft. in height and 2 ft. in diameter. Flowers, in shades of orange, grow in successive wreaths on the crown of the plant. Yellow fruits follow.

Warning This cactus has very sharp spines.

Range Arizona to w. Texas and adjacent Mexico.
