Description Back scales granular and keeled. Throat has 2 folds, earless. Brownish/gray. Long tail. Black marks on sides of males. Females paler, no side marks.

Dimensions 11-14.1cm. (4 1/2-5 9/16")

Subspecies Nothern Keeled Earless Lizard.

Breeding Summer. 1 1/2cm (1 1/2") long when hatched.

Habitat Sand dunes.

Range Texas to Mexico.

Discussion Diurnal. Forages for insects and vegetation.
