Description Granite colores-mottled brown/gray.
Dimensions 2.5-5.1cm. (1-2")
Voice Quacking noise. Males vocalise when in water.
Breeding March-May.
Habitat Deserts, mountains near slow streams.
Range Sw. California through Baja California.
Discussion Nocturnal. Hides in rock crevices near water. Coloration makes it hard to spot. Leaps into water when threatened but resurfaces quickly. Formerly of the species Hyla.
