Description Reddish brown-gray. Dark blotches. Whitish spots on thigh, visible when leg extended.
Dimensions 2.5-4.4cm. (1-1 3/4")
Voice Measured tapping sound. In a chorus sounds similar to typists.
Breeding June-September in the north. Longer in southern areas.
Habitat Temperate forests, swamps, intermittent freshwater lakes, and intermittent freshwater marshes.
Range Virginia through Florida coastal plain, along the Gulf Coast through to Louisiana.
Discussion Nocturnal. Hides in treetops. Difficult to spot since it's skin blends in with tree bark though can found by its call.
