Description Feet are white, ears are large, and throat hairs are dark. Smallish woodrat, pale gray-brown dorsally, with a distinctly bicolored tail.

Dimensions 245-352mm, 101-162mm, 85-186g

Similar Species Larger and darker than the Arizona Woodrat. Smaller than Bryant’s Woodrat, with finer hairs, and paler coloration.

Range Rocky Mountains, Southwest, California, Northwest

Discussion Builds sloppy stick nests around cacti, or on rocky crevices. Found in desert scrub in many of the drier deserts of North America.
