Yellow-bellied Marmot Marmota flaviventris

Track Front Prints may not show fifth toe, prints about 1 1/2" (44mm) long; hindprints longer when heel leaves impression in soil, and showing 5 toes. Trail is usually found in soft earth on a ledge.

Sign Den is often hidden among rocks; in open areas, burrow entrances 89" (200230 mm) wide, with mounds or fans of packed earth. Gives loud, far-carrying chirp or whistle when alarmed.
Scat: Droppings variable, usually more than 1" (25 mm) long.
