Track Hind prints are about 1" (25 mm) long, with 5 toes; fore prints smaller, with 4 toes and with claw marks well defined.
Sign Best signs are large, fan-shaped mounds of excavated earth, often with entrance plug, and tunnel cores, which are long masses of earth about 2" (50 mm) wide, placed in burrows under snow during winter and exposed by melting snow in spring.
