Western Spotted Skunk Spilogale gracilis

Track Like Striped Skunk's but smaller. Hindprint 1 1/4" (32 mm) long; heel pad shows more definite lobing. Stride very irregular, unlike that of other skunks.5 toes print when clear; sometimes claws show, slightly narrower, broader at front; somewhat flat-footed. Stride 46" (100150 mm).

Sign Musky odor is not as dependable a sign as it is for the Striped Skunk.
Scat: Dark, small, 7/8" (22 mm) diameter, irregularly cylindrical.
