Description Unique with dark eye-to-anus stripe and a pale marking below dorsal fin. Typically grayish, but may include blue or brown tones. Belly is white or pink. Specific stripe pattern is variable, but most originate from the eye.

Discussion Feeds on fish, shrimp, and squid. Known for “roto-tailing,” rapidly rotating the tail while leaping out of the water. Groups of 10-500 use deep water along both coasts.
