Family: Hylidae, Treefrogs view all from this family
Description 1 1/8-2" (2.9-5.1 cm). Bright green with white-edged lavender stripes on side. Hidden surface of thighs orange; toe pads large.
Voice A nasal honk without much carrying power, repeated about once a second.
Breeding April to August.
Habitat Swamps, streams, and acid bog areas.
Range Population centers are scattered in mid-Atlantic and South.
Discussion Nocturnal. A rare species, seldom encountered except at breeding time, when it may be seen at a favorite mating site. Its survival is threatened by habitat destruction, especially the draining of wetlands.
