Alternate name: Sticky False Asphodel, Sticky Tofieldia

Family: Liliaceae, Lily view all from this family

Description Leafy only in the lower part, glandular in the upper part, with many tiny white flowers in a dense, often interrupted, cluster at top.
Flowers: 6 spreading petal-like segments 1/8-1/4" (3-6 mm) long, and stamens 6, that lie against them.
Leaves: 2-8" (5-20 cm) long, erect, narrow, sheathing stem at base.
Height: 4-20" (10-50 cm), sometimes to 32" (80 cm).

Flower June-August.

Habitat Wet places, meadows, and alpine ridges.

Range Across Canada; south to central California, Idaho, and Wyoming in the West.

Discussion The species name glutinosa refers to the sticky, glandular hairs on the stem beneath the flower clusters.
