Description Gray. Green-black bordered blotches sometime stripes. Stripe through eyes normally green. Toe tips small & round.

Dimensions 1.9-3.2cm. (3/4-1 1/4")

Voice Similar to a saw sound, rasping trill.

Breeding Year round in south, after rainfall. Spring in northern range.

Habitat Shortgrass prairies.

Range Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, along Gulf Coast to Rio Grande River Valley Texas.

Discussion Nocturnal. Inactive during dry conditions. Burrows underground. Spotted around breeding pools. Diet includes small insects and spiders.
