Description Blackish-brown with green splotches. 14-15 costal grooves.
Dimensions 7.9-14cm. (3 1/8-5 1/2")
Breeding 10-20 eggs in a cluster laid in mucus strands.
Habitat Temperate forests and rocky areas.
Range Pennsylvania through Allegheny & Cumberland mountains. Also Blue rug Mountains in n. & s. Carolina.
Discussion Hides in rotting trees and crevices. Nocturnal, at night climbs out on surfaces. Diet consists of small invertebrates including mosquitoes, beetles & ants.
