Family: Plethodontidae, Lungless Salamanders view all from this family



Description Brown with greenish-yellow mottling. Darker on sides with light flecks. 15 Costal grooves.


Dimensions 9.8-15cm. (3 7/8-5 7/8")


Breeding No Larval stage. 6-18 eggs laid late spring.


Habitat Temperate forests, freshwater springs, and rocky areas.


Range Washington through to w. Oregon and n. California.


Discussion Diet consists mainly of small invertebrates including mites and small snails. When disturbed flees to water.
