White-tailed doves

A white tailed dove has started nesting in a flower pot on my front porch. And I love it! Anything you could tell me about the white tailed dove would be appreciated. The one on the porch never leaves the flower pot; it's made its nest out of pine needles.

The white tailed dove you have described is probably a Eurasian collared dove, which has recently arrived in your region. Like the mourning dove, it usually lays two white eggs that require about two weeks to hatch, and another two weeks for the chicks to grow up and leave the nest.
