chicken predator

Recently a nocturnal visitor to our farm killed a rooster and 2 hens in the same night. All 3 carcasses were left in the barnyard with only the heads and necks missing from the 2 hens. Any clue what may have done this?

Wildlife Expert - David Herlocker

Sounds like a Raccoon raid. Raccoons will often attack several birds and leave most of the carcasses uneaten. Great Horned Owls will also take heads and necks, but the multiple kills is a Raccoon trademark. You need to fix the coop, they WILL be back. Read the attached article for much more information.
