Hello in Oceanside: Click on the website below to view San Diego's recommended water-wise plants for residential use; several pine trees are on the list. Visit your favorite nursery and do a little research before choosing the tree(s) that you like. Consider having several hardwood and pine trees with smaller trees and shrubs to form a woodland edge. You can then have a meadow or herb garden in front of that if light conditions permit. Explore one of San Diego's natural areas to be inspired by the plant arrangements you see there. Above all have fun as you plan this important view from your patio, and all of us at eNature.com hope you'll choose some plants for wildlife food, cover and/or nesting too!
