Albino Pileated West of Indianapolis?

We have seen Pileated Woodpeckers often, they hang on my suit cage, only inches fromour window. Today we saw one, that looked like an albino. The only color was the red on his crown. Would this be an albino, or maybe just an immature bird? Thank you very much for your time, Kelly

Hi Kelly. I would really love to see your woodpecker, since I like strangely plumaged birds. Your woodpecker is a partial albino or leucistic bird. True albinos lack any pigment whatsoever.
