Hummingbird feeder with ants

My hummingbird feeder has attracted red ants. I've seen a hummingbird at it briefly, but I'm concerned about the ants. Will they keep the hummingbirds from eating? Are there other birds that might eat the ants? How can I get rid of the ants?

Birding Expert - George H. Harrison

Ants are a problem for birds that drink sugar water. I suggest that you buy a moat for your hummingbird feeder, available at most bird supply stores. When the moat is placed between the hanger and the feeder, and full of water, the ants cannot get beyond the water to the feeder.
