Alligator speed

How fast can an alligator move when hunting or in danger?

Wildlife Expert - David Herlocker

On land, Alligators are not capable of running faster than a slow human, top speed is probably between 10 and 15 miles per hour. There is a commonly repeated myth about alligators being able to move at 35 or 40 miles per hour, but this is not true.
