A fluorescent yellow spider

I have recently encountered a spider that is about 1/2 inch in size and is a very bright yellow all over with no other markings. It moved similarly to a crab and its legs seemed to be split into sections of 4. I thought it odd being that spiders in built up areas tend not to be such vivid colors-any ideas?

Sounds like a Crab spider, there are several that are sometimes a bright yellow color. The truth is, spiders everywhere are colorful, but the bright ones that live near humans are the ones that get noticed most often.
