We have many red-winged blackbirds that flit around in our suburban backyards. This spring I am seeing yellow winged blackbirds. Look the same their as red winged friends, but yellow bands only on their wings vs. the red and yellow. No one seem to know anything about these birds, and it is the first year I have seen them. Any ideas to solve the mystery? Thanks!
Young male red-winged blackbirds show little or no red on their wings. This is normal.
