We have five acres in San Diego county. We built a house and have replanted natives. Our plant communities are chaparral and coastal sage scrub. We are in a fire danger area. Many natives are fire retardent because they are low growing and don't have much fuel to feed a fire. We have some rare animals and plants including at least one pair of California Gnatcatchers. We found copperleaf plants and many wild flowers happy in our decomposing granite soil. Visit us: http://www.kdbarto.org
